ASHI Instructor Development Course
This course by the American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) is a Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor course designed to allow the participant to teach all courses in the ASHI BLS curriculum. This course includes the ASHI Instructor Training Guide, Digital Copies of ASHI Training Program Instructor Guides, Digital Copies of ASHI Training Program Student Books, and 2-year ASHI BLS Instructor certification.
The following are courses an ASHI BLS Instructor is eligible to teach:
* Basic Life Support
* CPR/AED
* Basic First Aid
* Wilderness First Aid
* Bloodborne Pathogens
* Emergency Oxygen
* Child And Babysitting Safety
If the ASHI Instructor candidate has a Provider level of Advanced First Aid or Higher, then they can teach the following courses too:
* Advanced First Aid
* Emergency Medical Response (Must have Provider level in EMR or higher)
* Wilderness First Responder and/or Wilderness EMT Upgrade (Must have Provider level in WFR or WEMT, or higher)
There are 5 steps to completing the ASHI BLS Instructor course:
- Complete the ASHI Instructor Candidate Blended Learning online course. The Instructor candidate will receive the online course login information once successful registration is completed. This online course must be completed prior to the instructor-led course date. This step should take approximately 2 to 3 hours.
- Prepare for the mini-topic teaching segment that the Instructor Candidate must present at the instructor-led course. This teaching segment is a graded portion of the course. The Instructor candidate will receive their mini-topic once successful registration is completed. The presentation of the topic should last no less than 4 minutes and no more than 6 minutes.
- Successfully complete the instructor-led, BLS Instructor course. This is a full day course, which lasts approximately 8 hours.
- Successfully complete the ASHI G2015 Instructor update. This online course is approximately 2 hours
- Upon successful completion of the Instructor Development Course, the instructor candidate must affiliate with an ASHI Training Center, and submit an Instructor Application to finalize Instructor Authorization.
